Help
Need help understanding
how this top site list works, or just need a reminder on the code for your links?
Well, this is the place to find the answers:
1.
About Comedy Zone Top 100 humor sites
The list refreshes every hour to update all the latest votes, and the entire list
refreshes every week to make sure all new entrants get a fair chance of hitting
the top spot. Your site rises in the rankings by the number of people who click
on the link on your site, to vote for you at the Comedy Zone. To show up in the
rankings you need at least one vote, or better than position 100 to show up in
the ranking tables. The sites that send traffic into the list, get high returns
of other visitors checking them out, so you get lots of new traffic that you might
not otherwise attract.
2.
How do I set up the links?
So you've joined the list, but you don't have a link on your site yet. Your confirmation
e-mail will tell you how to set up your voting buttons, but in case you lost it,
or can't remember how it's done, cut and paste this code and exchange the bolded
'userID' for your own unique user name:
<A HREF="http://www.comedy-zone.net/cgi-bin/top100/rankem.cgi?id=USERID">
<IMG SRC="http://www.comedy-zone.net/images/exp/comedyzone1.gif" ALT="CLICK
NOW to vote for us at the Comedy Zone" BORDER=0 ></A>
Remember to replace
'USERID' with your own user name.
3.
How do I make sure my Banner image gets added to the list?
All sites that join the list can place their own banner for inclusion next to
their ranking. To do this, simply type in the url of the image you want to use
from your server, e.g.
http://www.comedy-zone.net/images/exp/comedyzone1.gif
Notice that
this link points to a graphic and not a web page. This allows us to fetch the
graphic you want us to use. All images must be less than 10k and be 88x31. If
you don't have an image to use, simply leave this field blank on your application
form and the default banner will be used.
Hopefully, this
will have covered all the major problems you may encounter in trying to set up
your links, but if you need any further help simply send us an e-mail and we'll
try and help.
Cheers,
Ray
