Ted Ray (born: Charles Olden) was
a popular British comedian of the 1950s and 1960s.
Ray began his career in music hall. Besides his comedy
act, he was a talented violinist. Shortly after the
Second World War, he appeared with Henry Hall and his
band. He went on to have his own television show, and
also acted as compere on variety and game shows.
Two of Ray's sons followed him into show business:
actor Andrew Ray, and the better-known Robin Ray, a
musician and presenter. |
