Paul Kaye is a British comedian and
actor who made his name as shock interviewer Dennis
Pennis, a fictional geeky American.
As Dennis Pennis, a character first seen in 1995,
Kaye and a camera crew would visit movie premieres
and other celebrity gatherings and attempt to get an
interview with them. He asked witty, usually very offensive,
questions to the celebrities with mixed results – some
would get aggrevated and others respond jokingly. One
interviewee was the actress Demi Moore, who was asked
if she would consider doing a movie, in which she kept
her clothes on.
Kaye killed the character off in 1997, though, in
2002, stated his intentions to bring him back in some
form or other.
In 2000 Kaye starred in comedy series Perfect World
which lasted for two series. He then went on to a slightly
more dramatic role alongside Michelle Collins in Two
Thousand Acres of Sky. More recently his attention
has been turned towards movies. In 2004 he played the
leading role in the film Blackball. |
