Keith Carter began his stand up career
in Liverpool's Orgasmic Comedy Club. Although he was
booed off that night, he soon returned with the idea
that the audience would like his gags better if told
by someone else. And so his first character, "Nige" was
born.
Nige might look like your garden variety shell-suited
scally, but beneath this vacant stereotype lies a wealth
of intelligent off-beat gags and keenly observed parodies.
His other characters include, "Gerald Roberts",
a cringe worthy self opinionated driver and "Colin
Kilkelly". He thinks he’s Liverpools answer
to Enrique Iglesias.
Keith Carter is a notable talent on the Comedy scene
right now and with a growing repetoire of strange and
acutely observed characters to play with, isn't that
reminiscent of a certain Mr Coogan, some years back? |
