In 1984, Doug snagged first place in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, leading to national headlining appearances at major clubs, with 25 television spots including Showtime, MTV, Fox and Comedy Central. A prolific comedy writer, Doug has written for TV and radio as well as for Rodney Dangerfield, Jay Leno, and many others. His recent work includes the "San Francisco Comedy Competition 25th Anniversary Special" on UPN. Doug was a keynote speaker along with his wife Elizabeth at the Bureau Of Primary Health Care’s "Health Care For The Homeless" conference in Washington, D.C. Doug headlines Northern California clubs, and remains active in the community including headlining Bimbo's benefit for the S.F. Suicide Prevention Hotline and the larger area Narcotics Anonymous Conventions. He is a regular at Mark Pitta & Friends at the Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley. The CD "Dougzilla: Pissed Off!" is usually available at his shows or through this website.
