People have been expressing their sadness to me that Zidane's career had to end on such a note. I, on the other hand, feel grief for Materazzi (the Italian player who was attacked). I mean, here is a guy who has worked all his life to become a better footballer--blood, sweat and tears he's shed--and it turns out all he had to do was insult a Frenchman to get a head.
