I love reading the jokes, quotes and trivia on this web site. It lightens my mood! I don't like how all the news headlines are slanted to bash our political leaders. Comedy's about showing truth, not pushing an agenda (right or left). Instead of finding the humor in our political system, I read headlines filled with hate for our leaders. Whoever's been writing these headlines finds satisfaction not in the quality of the humor, but in finding new ways to malign our leaders. Instead of delivering humor, you're delivering political diatribe. It's not even hidden well, it's right out there. It seems whoever's writing this beleives everyone hates Bush. There's plenty of ways to make fun of Bush without bringing politics into it. Comedy is most effective when it's got a broad appeal - not when it's used to promote a political idealogy. It's just a bad joke. It's the worst part of an otherwise great web site.

Thanks for the feedback and to a large extent I agree with your comments. My personal take on good humour is that it's what makes most people laugh without hurting anyone and I also agree; there's plenty of funny things to say about Mr Bush without bringing politics into it at all.
However, other people like to see the latest satirical take on the news as it happens, and in order to provide this I have to allow a certain amount of slack in terms of the quality levels applied to "news" articles. An article is only ever on the site for a few days and so doesn't get the same level of attention as the rest of the stuff which stays much longer and is personally looked after by me.
The "News" articles are all independent submissions from all over the world and sometimes include very biased political views, usually aimed at whoever is in power in whatever country is being spoken about. I think over the massive volume of articles that get airtime that some kind of balance is found... There are plenty of funny and entirely non-political writers that contribute too by the way.
Finally, a lot of people forget that I'm not some big corporate enterprise with shareholders and stuff, I'm just one man and to keep the content fresh I need to rely on people like the writers who kindly contribute their stories for free. So don't be too hard on all of them, there are some genuinely funny writers that appear in the "news", but if it's not your thing, all I can say is sorry...
All I'm about is trying to make you smile so if you're not, neither am I Ray

Thanks for your reply. It makes me respect you and your site more to know that you haven't set it up just as a place to push a political point of view. Since the site depends partly on content from contributers, I guess it's only fair to let them give their views, biased as they may be. I like to read broadly appealing humor, stuff that gets to the core of us all, not just 1/2 of the politcal spectrum. Bob Hope (and to a lesser exent, Reagan and Clinton) were good at just being funny in the politcal realm without getting personal or hateful. They didn't have to put anyone down to make a point. It was positive and witty instead of negative and sometimes degrading (like some news headlines I have readon this site). It is still a good web site, and I'm thrilled that someone has taken the time and effort to make it available. Cheers to you, and best wishes for this web site's (and your) continued success.
