What would you get if you crossed "All my Children" with "Saturday Night Live"? Something like "Irrational Dreams"! This playscript is one of the few soap opera parodies available in print. The concept of my work is that it uses the plot devices of the 'traditional' soap - adultery, blackmail, turbulent careers, budding romance, etc. - only for satirical / humorous effect, rather than the melodrama of the TV soap opera. "Irrational Dreams" consists of thirty-three scenes, and concerns the film industry in Los Angeles. It was produced in an off-off-Broadway workshop by the Rising Sun Performance Company.
