Atom Ant is a cartoon ant and superhero,
originally created by Hanna
Barbera as "The Atom Ant Show" in 1965.
His name
may have been derived from adamant, which gives indication
towards his great strength (exceeding the "50 times
his own weight" lifting capacity ants are often
said to have).
Atom Ant co-starred in The Atom Ant/Secret
Squirrel Show sharing top billing with Secret Squirrel.
Atom Ant operated out of an anthill in the countryside,
where he possessed such things as a mainframe computer
and exercise equipment. His powers mostly consisted
of the ability to fly, superspeed, and amazing strength.
Atom's catchphrase and battle cry was: "up and
at 'em, Atom Ant!"
Atom Ant later appeared in the early 1970s series
Yogi's Gang, and in the late 1980s series Yo Yogi
